This early pfennig from Bohemia was issued by Bretislaw I, Duke of Bohemia from 1037 (until 1055). Bretislaus was an illegitimate son of Oldrich from the Premyslid dynasty, and only ascended to the ducal throne because none of his father's brothers had any heirs. The coins image depicts not Bretislaus, however, but his ancestor Wenceslaus, Bohemia's patron saint.
