Kingdom of Belgium, Albert II, 2 Euros 2000 (obverse) Kingdom of Belgium, Albert II, 2 Euros 2000 (reverse)

Belgium replaced the Belgian franc with the euro in 1999. The coins are minted in the Royal Mint of Belgium in Brussels. They show the head of state, on this coin still King Albert II, who sat on the Belgian throne from 1993 to 2013. As a result of the language conflict between the Flemish and the Walloons, the Belgian euro coins bear no inscriptions.
